Royal Dornoch was laid out by Old Tom Morris and its amazing “rise to fame” has seen it recently rocket to Number 2 in the latest “Golf Digest” world rankings.
Dornoch was the home town and course of Donald Ross, who also worked there as a “keeper of the green” (greenkeeper). If you've heard his name before it's because he was the gentleman who designed Pinehurst No.2 amongst others.
Dornoch is currently developing a brand new “State of the art” £13.9 million pounds clubhouse as it looks forward to its 150th anniversary in 2027. Great things lie ahead for this wonderful quaint little highland town.
